I walked this road four times in one week — early, blinding, then grey. The village never looked like the same place twice, so I painted the version that kept me awake.
The buildings are stacked close enough to look like one organism, held up by the mountain behind them. I wanted the weight of that: pale façades carrying each other, the sea cutting in underneath with too much confidence.
